All Out, Tuck In, Slip Up

A few quick thoughts on a bunch of random stuff to kick off this weekend’s supply of needless gunk.

I didn’t watch the All Out show that took place last weekend, but have had a couple folks ask me about the main event stuff. I have thoughts, but I’m saving those for the next DTM-Cast, which is already going to cover a pretty horrible wrestling show from ages ago, so that’s the perfect spot for it.

Likewise, I did not purchase the MvC Fighting Collection. I’m mostly holding out for a price drop since Capcom like to do those every once in a while, but I’m also considering the physical pick-up. Considering that this is Disney we’re dealing with on the other end and they’d rather have the spotlight on the things that they’re ruining at the moment, a physical cart is probably the best way to go unless that’s set to self-destruct some time next year. (I wouldn’t put it past the industry to put such practices to use in order to force all gamers to embrace the cloud. Fuck off with that noise.)

Someone e-mailed me the other day expressing genuine curiosity as to whether I’ve turned a corner on the upcoming Section 31 movie, even though it hasn’t come out yet and the only thing we have to go on is a rather rubbish teaser trailer. I politely replied “no.” Further elaboration was requested, but there really isn’t any. I thought the trailer was dull, generic stuff that did not elicit much of a reaction. That it bares the Star Trek branding and makes mentions of Star Trek things doesn’t matter; you could have called it anything else and I would have told you the same thing. Now if they were to put out another trailer that did a better sell job, then maybe… just maybe… I might turn a leaf. For now, though, no buys.

But if you really want me to say something nice, I stand a better chance of watching this than giving those Very Shit Treks another watch. Those are a waste of time.

Other than that… not much else to go on. I’m hoping to start compiling some of the Sunday Gimmick Table stuff together so we can get that going for a short run. There’s also another project that I’d like to get started on sooner or later involving a revisit of an ancient piece of technology that we’ve covered on this webzone ages ago. With a sudden influx of free time, I’m hoping things will be moving a bit more forward and a bit less stalling.

I just need to stop playing B-17 Bomber for a bit.
