Yes, we’re keeping Joe Hendry in the banner until he bores the shit out of me… and that’s not likely to happen anytime soon, I think. Unfortunately, Mr. Hendry didn’t make an appearance on this show; the most we get is a video package and… yeah, while I may believe in Joe Hendry, my faith in TNA to do things right… well, it never existed in the first place and it’s a fluke that I’ve been enjoying this show for as long as I have.
Show opens with The System coming out and flaunting their championship success since every member of the faction now holds gold. … Out comes Broken Matt to ruin the parade and potentially tease the arrival of Reby, which means that she could finally fulfill her dream of fucking that owl. (Don’t look at me, I’m not the one who sold a T-Shirt stating that intention.) So the System start to beat up on Matt until RYAN NEMETH comes out for the save… yep. And then some cheerleaders do DELETE and stuff.
So the gist of this is that on the next episode of Impact, there’s going to be a “Championship Challenge” that involves every champion in TNA facing off against every potential challenger to those titles… and hey, Joe Hendry is one of said challengers. There is hope for this post-D’Amore TNA after all… or maybe it’s a false hope.
Honestly, this was a pretty solid show overall. Main Event featured a tremendous Speedball Mountain/ABC tag match that may have been one of Impact’s best matches not involving anyone named Okada, Ospreay, Omega, Alexander, Angle, Storm, Joe, Styles, Daniels, Sting… er, it was a great main event, let’s just leave it at that. There’s some stuff being built for the future, the show remains an easy watch, and what the fuck is that octopus thing on the man’s face?
