Impact (March 7th, 2024) – A Show That Happens

Sacrifice happened this past weekend… surprise to me, actually… but there you go.

Anyway, I didn’t see the show nor did I check out results, so I’m not going to “spoil” anything on that show during a musings for a show that served as the go-home show for that show… does that make any sense? Any sense at all?

So Dirty Dango and Josh Alexander headlined this episode of Impact, which saw Dango focusing on the Josh’s leg for a bit before Josh makes the big comeback and taps out Dango with an ankle lock – his bad leg seemingly healed. Other than that, it was a pretty fun main event match.

Other notable matches were PCO demolishing Alan Angels in the hypothetical battle of Quebec, Dani Luna gets a win over Masha Slammovich to continue the Masha/Killer Kelly vs. Luna/Evans tag title feud while reminding people while TNA was good at the women’s wrestling thing long before people  even pretended to give a shit about women’s wrestling, much less actually doing so. Ash By Elegance gets another squash win over some girl from Alaska. And we get a creepy Steve Maclin video that ends with the lights going out and Dolph Ziggler’s creepy face… is this the lost of episode of Z True Long Island Story that Matt Cardona had hidden away somewhere?

Well, two weeks of build for another “premium live event” after the last one isn’t quite ideal, but as a show, this was more than serviceable. None of these shows are particularly blowaway, but I wouldn’t call these bad. Like I said, once you settle into a groove, you know what you’re getting each week and Impact, thus far, has not deviated from that. It remains an easy show to watch and has not degraded to the levels of absurdity that one would expect from the TNA brand. Let’s hope it stays that way.
