It’s the leap day edition of TNA Impact and also the fallout from this past weekend’s No Surrender show, which I did not watch, but thankfully, there were enough recaps for me to catch up.
On a personal note, I’m feeling a bit better. I’m getting over the hump. I’m… almost ready to move on. I’m not quite there yet… but we’re getting there.
So we’ve got our next TNA+ streaming service event to build to… with two weeks build. Fuck me… this is going to be dreadful, isn’t it?
Some recaps of the No Surrender show reveal that Eric Young is the number one contender to Moose’s TNA title and that Mustafa Ali is the new X-Division champion. I’ve not watched the show, but I’ve heard somewhat good things.
The show is business as usual; building what they can for the upcoming show while putting on a couple decent matches. In terms of matches for Sacrifice, we have a three-way for the Knockouts title, Eric Young challenging Moose for the World title, and Steve Maclin challenging Nic Nemeth to a match… oh, and Nemeth went to New Japan and won their IWGP Global championship, which is apparently a replacement for their US title. Yep.
New X-Division Champion Mustafa Ali had a championship celebration that was interrupted by former champ Chris Sabin, so I’d imagine a rematch is in the books. The System dominated a six-man main event. And they announced the signing of Hammerstone to a TNA contract. I’ve seen some of the guy’s work in MLW; he’s a big dude with some star potential if they know what to do with him.
Not much else to say about this show… that’s quickly becoming a bit of the norm, isn’t it? Not that it’s a bad thing. Usually if I have a lot to say, it’s usually because they did something stupid… but right now, the only potentially stupid thing that TNA has done lately was fire Scott D’Amore… but we’ll see how things hold up without him going forward.
