With last night’s title win, AJ Styles is often being credited as being the first guy to have held the TNA, IWGP, and WWE championships, making him something of a Triple Crown champ. Quite an impressive showing all things considered, but did you know that AJ Styles also held the NWA World title during TNA’s Asylum years?
Because TNA didn’t actually have a World title to call their own until 2007, so they just used the NWA belt and AJ’s held that a couple times. So realistically, he should be considered a Grand Slam champion before having held the NWA, TNA, IWGP, and WWE World titles.
Just a thought.
