The second segment of this little BEAMER experiment… I think I’ve got one more in the can. We’ll see about putting this out sooner…
Ship’s Log… Supplemental… Not that it matters…
Made a slow approach towards a nearby planet that blipped on long-range sensors. Looked like a typical Class-M planet; almost Earth-like. No signs of civilization or technology. No signs of humanoid life, either. Possibly either this is uninhabited or there’s something more to this planet. Either way, I did a quick scan of the planet surface in hopes of finding a good place to land. Resources were slowly being drained and I need to find a spot to set up a homing beacon.
BANG!
What was that?!
Checking tactical… there’s a ship on an intercept course. Unknown configuration, but looks to be a small frigate. Seemed like a warning shot, but I’m not taking any chances. Opening hailing frequencies…
No response…
Hold up… the ship is powering weapons.
Shields up!
BANG!
Blast! That ship is packing some firepower. One shot practically demolished my forward shield. Could have easily destroyed Beamer. Performing evasive maneuvers… another barrage incoming… move it, you stupid…
Good! Dodged that barrage. Impulse engines somehow holding up. So are the shields, but that won’t be for long. Comm system looks to be completely shot, but I try to hail the ship again… oh shit!
BANG!
That last shot overload the shield grid; so much for that. Diverting remaining warp power to impulse… trying to get the phasers back online… the ship is going for another attack run… I need to make a run for the planet surface… maybe find some cover in the forest before…

Scanners are dead. I’m blind as a Tiberian bat. I’ll have to go in blind and hope for the best. Navigating is fried… flying her in manually.
Cabin’s heating up. Might have taken a little more of a beating than I thought… wait a minute. Why isn’t the ship going after me? Could it be it’s not meant for atmospheric flight?
Hold on… scanners told me there was a forest around these parts… but all I see is barren rocks… and the sky looks grayish. How did that happen so fast?
Picking up speed… can’t slow down…
Transporters are out…
I’m going down…
