Smackdown (Oct. 7th, 2011) – You Are Aware That He Runs BOTH Shows, Right?

This promotion is fucking stupid.

For anyone who missed this past Monday’s edition of RAW, know that I am envious of you right now. You did not bare witness to one of the stupidest storylines I’ve seen play out in this promotion in forever. The end of the program, which saw the entire RAW (& Smackdown) locker room walk out on HHH due to his leadership evoking what was described as an “unsafe working environment” where superstars and divas feared for their well being due to not knowing if they were in danger of being attacked backstage… you know, as something like this would happen on every show in WWE since forever?

But apparently, all of a sudden, these backstage attacks are cause for concern and ever since HHH took over leadership of WWE, things have gotten more dangerous and unsafe. And so, the decision was made to walk out on RAW. Everyone walked out; superstars, divas, announcers, camera crew, ring crew… everyone except the production people who knew precisely when to fade the show out on cue… or the people operating the lighting… or the few camera people who stuck around to film an extra bit after RAW went off the air… I don’t know; you’re not really doing this walkout gimmick any justice, are you?

So everyone walked on RAW and you wonder… “What happens to Smackdown? If everyone walked on HHH because WWE is unsafe, where does that leave Smackdown?”

Well, the show opened with everyone at Smackdown… yep.

See, the superstars were walking out on RAW because of HHH’s leadership, but Smackdown was apparently a-okay because HHH has nothing to do with that and Teddy Long is in charge of things here, playa. Well, that’s all well and good… if HHH was just the general manager of RAW… but he’s not. He’s the COO of WWE… as in the ENTIRE COMPANY… that INCLUDES Smackdown! So what’s to stop him from showing up on Smackdown and taking over that show to turn it into a SuperShow? There shouldn’t be any reason why he couldn’t do that.

I hate to bring this up, but Miz and Truth – both fired by HHH and portrayed as vigilante rebels looking to wreck havoc on WWE for… reasons – went ahead and wrecked havoc at the last PPV, which is a CO-BRANDED PPV. But apparently, these attacks are only restricted to RAW and nowhere else. And that’s the only show where the walkout applies… because… why?

I’m fast-forwarding the majority of the crap involving this stupid walkout and I find the rest of the show to be… passable at best. There’s a Big Show/Mark Henry segment to build that feud for whenever the next PPV happens to be, a fun tag match with Sheamus and Orton going over Christian and Cody Rhodes, and a couple squashes, including Beth Phoenix squashing Alicia Fox in 30 seconds… a far cry from Monday because in her words, “She was just one of the girls worried for her safety backstage” and… fuck, I can get one of the other girls dropping that line, but the GLAMAZON of all people? SERIOUSLY?

Yeah, that’s all I’ve got… I wish I wasn’t watching RAW… I wish I could watch something else, but… all that’s left is Impact and… fuck me, do I NOT want to watch THAT fucking show.
