Unfortunately, hardcore TNA fanboys who were hoping the true WWE Champion would show up on TNA tapings (with the belt, no less) are no doubt heartbroken by the news that CM Punk has indeed signed a new contract with WWE.
With that having been said, I think it’s pretty cool that TNA is taking advantage of the recent CM Punk rumblings by unearthing some stuff from his brief stint with the organization (from the early days of TNA when they were running weekly pay-per-views as opposed to weakly television shows). Almost makes me think of the lost opportunity WCW had when Steve Austin hit it big in the WWF ages ago by showing some of his old matches.
