So last Sunday night, I saw the series finale of the Sopranos. Wasn’t so much a show that fit the bill of series finales (loud, climatic). In fact, it felt pretty much like any other episode and it works. The ending is perhaps the best ending ever conceived (despite people thinking otherwise) because it’s different. It doesn’t give you an ending per se and perhaps that’s a good thing.
Apparently Vince saw the finale and felt the people needed a worthy ending. So they filmed his “death” involving an exploding limo. God, do we have to play this death card again? What if they decide to bring back Mr. McMahon again? Man, who cares really? In three months time, they’ll bring him back and say he suffered some minor burns and lost his best two-piece suit. And if they decide that’s what they’ll do, they don’t even have to cook up a graphic. I got one for them right up there.
What a stupid ending. What a piece of fucking god-damn shit.
*drinks rolling rock*
So let’s talk about the Draft, which was largely uneventful but a couple surprise picks were involved. So the concept behind the Draft was simple: guys who won matches earned a pick for their brand. The absolute retardation behind the Draft process aside, at least all the drafts were made on one night (although WWE.com announced a supplemental draft to be made – which is the norm as extra draft moves not worth the air time took place on the website.) Here’s the draft picks for anyone who missed them.
The Great Khali goes to Smackdown
Yeah, this is a huge deal alright. A huge deal down the crapper. Good riddance with this guy, they can have him.
The Boogeyman to ECW
Wow, just what this company needed was more freaks. Now they can bring back the Zombie from the show’s premiere episode. Next.
King Booker T to RAW
Of course, after the other two brands get a couple of stiffs, RAW gets King Booker. Anyone who doesn’t think RAW is getting the better deal and the other brands are getting shaft are idiots.
Chris Benoit to ECW
Here’s a pleasant surprise; rumors on wrestling sites had predicted a move for Benoit, but they involved him moving to RAW. A return to ECW (even if it’s the kiddie-fuck version) will make things interesting on that show.
Torrie Wilson to Smackdown
More useless boobies. Next.
Chris Masters to Smackdown
Smackdown getting the shaft, you say? Actually, the move might prove to be a fresh start for the Masterpiece, whose act is getting stale on RAW. At least he’s not on ECW… that show doesn’t need anymore dead weight.
Bobby Lashley to RAW
This was expected. Since Lashley was spending half his reign as ECW champ on RAW, it made sense to move him. Of course, he’s no longer ECW champ, so I don’t know the deal with that title. Not that it really matters.
Ric Flair to Smackdown
Eh, we’ll see if Flair teams with Batista after he due or dahs. Not a big deal, but Flair is also entertaining even at his stately point in his career.
Snitsky to RAW
It’s Snitsky. He won’t happen on ECW anymore.
Ken Kennedy to RAW
Yep, the other two brands are taking the shaft. We’ll see how Kennedy does in RAW.
I’ll probably review the later draft picks done tomorrow, but for the most part, it was an uneventful RAW. Nice to see some old faces, but damn, that ending just ruins it for me.
Did I mention it was a stupid ending?
