For anyone wondering, I’ll be posting the second part of the Wrestlemania feature sometime this week, along with predictions for the show and the other show when a full match card has been established for either or.
In the meantime, I’m doing predictions for a TNA pay-per-view. Not bad, considering I don’t currently follow the product other than through the Internet reports (since I’m poor and live in Canada). In any case, my comments might be short and sweet for the most part, but what I have to say… is a bit. So let’s get this over and done with.
So mind you, since I don’t know half these guys, I’m mostly going to do a coin-flip for most of these matches. In any case…
Let’s do some pre-show matches. None of them count:
The Diamonds In The Rough (Skipper & Young) vs. Shark Boy & Norman Smiley
MY PICK: Skipper & Young
The Prince of Punk vs. Cassidy Riley
What the heck is Shannon Moore doing? He’s not following the ways of Mattitude!
MY PICK: Prince of Punk
Now for the PPV:
Lance Hoyt vs. Matt Bentley
MY PICK: Matt Bentley
The James Gang (Kip & BG James) and Bullet Bob Armstrong vs. the Latin American Exchange (Konnan, Homicide, & Machete)
Oh yeah, this is smart. Let’s put the “We-Can’t-Call-Them-New-Age-Or-Outlaws” tag-team back together, stick them with an old guy (no disrespect, but Bullet Bob looks OLD), and have them face a bunch of Mexicans. A perfect rematch for when they sign that Goldberg/Warrior match… not that it’ll happen.
MY PICK: The James Gang
8-man tag-team bout
Planet Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett, AMW, and Abyss) vs. Team We’ve-Been-Fired-From-WWE (Rhyno, Team 3D, and the Truth)
So in one of those odd twists of fate, Jeff Jarrett is not headlining a TNA PPV as the champion and has been stuck in a nothing match whose only significance is the possible appearance of Steve “Sting” Borden as the angry man whose family’s been violated. Something irks in that thinking, but in a sense, Steve Borden shows up… while Sting remains retired. But technically… my head hurts. And by the way, does this promotion even have tag-team titles anymore?
MY PICK: Fired WWE employees
Ultimate X Match for the TNA X-Division Title
Samoa Joe (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels
I’ve seen a previous U-X match and was pretty impressed by it. How they’ll pull this one off with a bigger guy… who knows? But I do know that somehow the big guy pulls it off.
MY PICK: Samoa Joe
NWA World Title Match
Christian Cage vs. Monty Brown
Nothing to say really.
MY PICK: Christian Cage
So let’s see how this pans out. If it works, I might do more TNA PPVs. If not… I tried, at least.
