Classic Bite Commentary #34 – May 14th, 2003

This commentary is going to be short and simple, because it’s something I want to get off my chest.

In about one month, The Bite will be on the net for its one-year anniversary. For this past year, this commentary series has been used as a platform to talk about stuff, tell stories, and voice my opinions and frustrations. The Bite isn’t meant to be a successful or popular section; it’s just there for anyone to read. If people liked it, great. If people hated it, great. If people think it’s funny, great. If people think it’s offensive or crude, great. As long as people read it, that’s my only reward.

The philosophy of the Bite was straight-out honesty. If I hated something, I didn’t hesitate to put it here. If I’ve had a change of heart about something, I’ll say it. If I’m frustrated, I’m going to vent it here. If I liked something, I’ll praise it. If I recommend something, it’ll be here. If I have news, I’ll place it here. That has always been the mentality behind these commentaries.

In retrospect, there were many things I wished I could have stated in the earlier editions but didn’t. Don’t assume things will change in year 2, because they won’t. The Bite is not going to ease up. The Bite is not going to be an overly positive platform. It’s going to the same sumbitch it’s always been. Nothing is going to change about this thing… except the perty colors.

You have your message boards where you go out and vent your praise/frustrations on anything out there. That’s your forum. The Bite, in that respect, is my forum. It’s where I vent these bits of frustration or praise or whatever I’m feeling at the time.

The hallmark seemed to be the WWE bashing, which is a popular thing in the Internet right now because of the stale product that the company is throwing out. … . Chris Jericho’s comment has been “If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.” At the time, I might have agreed with him. The way things are going now, Chris, if people had taken your advice, the company would be out of business and you would be out of a job.

Another hallmark seemed to be the Power Rangers Ninja Storm bashing; hey, take it for what you will. In my opinion, the show isn’t that great. Okay, I’ll rephrase it; I think it’s pretty bad. In fact, I haven’t been frequently following this series as much as I have been with PRTF. The show’s last two major plot points are still ahead and they could either bring about a new change in Ninja Storm and continue the same mediocrity.

I ramble about things.

Keep your comments nice and clean and we'll be fine. Thanks.
