Impact (March 21st, 2024) – What Mania Program?

Listen, if you want to blame the drop off in quality on DWAYNE, we can do that… but not everything can be blamed on DWAYNE.

Now Charlotte, on the other hand…

Anyway, I’ll keep this brief. Jake Something won a Number One contenders match to Mustafa Ali’s X-Division championship, Hammerstone had an interview with Tom Hannifan explaining his motivations and pretty much establishing himself as the monster heel for Josh Alexander to overcome one of these days, and Jordynne Grace retains the KO title over Tasha Steelz. There was other stuff happening, but not enough to warrant a deep dive or anything.

Don’t get me wrong; the show wasn’t bad, in spite of what the opening blurb of this post would imply. It was just there. And I had little to say. Sometimes, it happens. Is it professional? No, of course not. But then, I never said that I was a professional.

See you next week.

Impact (March 14th, 2024) – A Step Above The Rest

Part of me wished I had done this on 3:16 day, just so we can talk about something that isn’t WWE-related or even Stone Cold-related… oh well, maybe next year.

Then again, maybe next year, I’ll have more than these weekly Impact postings to see a “regular” occurrence. To tell you the truth, I’m still shocked that I’ve been keeping up with these shows for as long as I have. I figured the dumping of D’Amore would’ve lead to a drop in quality (or at least the return of that fucking owl logo), but thus far, the show has been somewhat pleasant, if not uneventful.

In any case, this is the post-Sacrifice edition of Impact, which means we can start building towards TNA’s other PPV offering for this year, Rebellion.

Impact (March 7th, 2024) – A Show That Happens

Sacrifice happened this past weekend… surprise to me, actually… but there you go.

Anyway, I didn’t see the show nor did I check out results, so I’m not going to “spoil” anything on that show during a musings for a show that served as the go-home show for that show… does that make any sense? Any sense at all?

Impact (February 29th, 2024) – Leaping Lanny Sadly Not Included

It’s the leap day edition of TNA Impact and also the fallout from this past weekend’s No Surrender show, which I did not watch, but thankfully, there were enough recaps for me to catch up.

On a personal note, I’m feeling a bit better. I’m getting over the hump. I’m… almost ready to move on. I’m not quite there yet… but we’re getting there.

Impact (February 22nd, 2024) – Should I Be Worried?

Well, it’s the go-home show for TNA’s upcoming No Surrender show (no, it’s not – No Surrender was this past weekend, but let’s pretend that it’s upcoming) and from my understanding, this is the last TNA show in whatever taping cycle that they had going on. Hell of a run so far; they’ve had some good matches, they’ve done some good builds for this next PPV special or whatever it’s packaged as.

But this would also turn out to be the final set of TNA shows under the leadership of Scott D’Amore, who would soon be fired and replaced by some other guy whose name escapes me.

Impact (February 15th, 2024) – Not In The Mood…

I honestly don’t if I should even be doing this right now… my mind’s not in the right frame of mind at the moment. I’m still reeling over the loss of my friend. I haven’t done much of anything else… and to tell you the truth, there wasn’t much on this show that really stuck out to mind other than a pretty good match between Jordynne Grace and Savannah Evans as well as the stuff between Kazarian and Eric Young.

Oh, and the Crazy Steve/Rhino match for the Digital Title was pretty fun stuff too.

I’m probably doing this show a disservice by giving it a half-hearted write-up, but thankfully, this isn’t a regular review gig and I don’t get paid for it. So I’m not worried…

I do miss my friend, though.

Impact (February 8th, 2024) – A So-So Show Highlights A Morbid Weekend

Coming out of a miserable weekend on the personal side of things, but fortunately, we have another episode of TNA Impact to bring some much needed good vibes to an otherwise morbid period… never did I ever think I’d be describing TNA or Impact as anything involving “good vibes.” This truly is a new era.

Well, until the next set of tapings come along, that is… then we’ve got another “new” era of TNA to endure since the departure of one of its key figures, but we’ll save that discussion for later down the road. I’d like to keep things a little upbeat for the moment.

Impact (February 1st, 2024) – Settling Into A Groove

Could it be? Another weekly IMPACT musings?!

Why, yes… yes, it can…

This show is easy to watch, you’ll get a couple decent matches out of it, and for what it’s worth, the few little angles that they’ve got going on here and there aren’t that difficult to follow. I will admit that the shows have settled into a groove and probably won’t hit the heights experienced with that initial outing, but hey, so long as the shows are entertaining enough and fly by quickly, I’m more than content with that.

Impact (January 25th, 2024) – All This And Okada, Too…

Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. We’re doing another episode of TNA Impact.

Before anyone asks, yeah, I’m making the point to publish these every Monday morning since I tend to watch these show during the weekend. Also, not having to do a post the day after allows me to reflect on things a little more… and sometimes, I do need to reflect on things a little more.

Impact (January 18th, 2024) – Here We Go Again…

For those who didn’t get the memo… TNA Wrestling is in the midsts of a brand new era… again.

And yes, I can call it TNA Wrestling because they changed BACK to TNA Wrestling after years of calling themselves IMPACT Wrestling. And to be fair, I probably wasn’t the only person who was still calling them TNA. And so with a big name change, we invariably need

Technically speaking, this new era began with the Hard To Kill PPV that took place a couple months back, where they crowned a bunch of new champions and also featured the TNA debut of one Nic Nemeth a.k.a. the former Dolph Ziggler. Not even one show out of the woodworks and we’re already hiring WWE rejects.
